I'm a Hustler (baby)

As I write this, I’m sat on the sweaty Central line on my way home from a 10 hour day. Something you might not know about me is that I work 2 other jobs. One is at a bar and the other is for a promotional agency and I have had these jobs pretty much the whole time I’ve lived in London (just under 5 years!)

It's safe to say I've done my fair share of jobs whilst growing up. Our parents have always brought us up to make our own money and fund ourselves- I am very grateful for that. During sixth form I worked in retail (Jack Wills,) hospitality (a hotel/ restaurant) and taught dance every Saturday. I tried a bit of everything.. even working a 10 hour shift hungover in a Burger Van- not the highlight of my career to say the least!

Now unless you are Cara or Kate, I don’t think anyone can rely on modelling full time. It is a well paid career however.. the career is never certain. One week you can have 3 working days and the next 2 months- NOTHING! It’s up and down with pretty much no stability- forever giving my rents a mental breakdown! So to pay the bills and my overpriced rent... I also work in the real world.

So although I spend a lot of my week drinking coffee, searching for flights and shopping for things I don't need... there is more happening to fund these habits! Both of my ‘other’ jobs are 0 hours and I’m very lucky that they understand my career. They aren't something I am particularly  passionate about but they keep my head screwed on and I get to socialise and meet new people (forever finding the positives!) Never let a job get you down- we all have to earn money in some way to get us to where we want to be! In honesty, I wouldn’t be able to survive in London without them.
