Make It Happen

2 weeks ago saw the release of the new music video If You’re Over Me- Years and Years.

I was lucky enough to be one of the dancers in this video alongside my BFF Ramzan. Dream come true! The video was shot over 4 days in Bangkok, Thailand with an amazing production team and cast.

How did it happen you ask?
We were travelling Asia at the time; I was probably collapsed on my hostel bed after another day of sunbathing (hard life I know) and scrolling through instagram- when am I not? We saw a post calling for dancers in Thailand- well we happened to be in Cambodia, the country next door! We took our chances and sent an email, next thing we knew we were on the bus to Bangkok and straight into rehearsals the next day!

We woke up extra early that morning to take an Uber to the closest H&M- I kid you not. We had already been travelling for a month at this point- we needed fresh dance clothes and well.. any excuse to shop right? Olly Alexander was so lovely on the first day. He hugged us all and was so grateful we were there to be a part of it- just the most adorable and humble person. From then on, If You’re Over Me was created by the fabulous Fred Rowson and it was such a fun job to be part of.

I suppose the moral of the story is… if you don’t ask, you don’t get. I love this saying and I’m a great believer in it. Had we not sent that email back in Cambodia, we wouldn’t have done this amazing job. When an opportunity arrises, don’t let it pass. Take a breath, act in the moment and send that message. What’s the worst that can happen?
